Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide support for the Residential Horticulture Program at Lake County Extension Services by assisting with the plant clinic, providing University of Florida recommendations to residents of Lake County, and assisting with education outreach. This position has a strong emphasis on customer service and volunteer group interaction. The position is responsible for performing various logistic and administrative functions associated with Extension program efforts and community events to include coordination with volunteers and faculty to work cooperatively on residential horticulture educational events, responds to resident inquiries, and performs other tasks as required. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Requires associate degree with two (2) years of related experience. A strong background in horticulture is strongly preferred. Familiarity with the Master Gardener Volunteer program is preferred.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
