Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to inspect County construction projects in an assigned division, which may include roadways, stormwater systems, parks & trails system and other various construction projects for compliance with applicable regulations. The position is responsible for performing construction inspection and plan review, reviewing right-of-way utilization permit applications, maintaining inspection/review records, and performing related tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires high school diploma or GED, and one year of college or vocational school education in Construction Management/Inspection, or a closely related field with three (3) years of related experience.
May require certification in the Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic course or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
May require certification in the Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control course or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
