Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide assistance to the Director of Parks and Trails in planning, directing, and supervising the operations and activities of the Office of Parks and Trails, providing a clean, safe and attractive parks and trails system for the health and enjoyment of the community. The position in coordination with the Director of Parks and Trails is responsible for managing and supervising staff, budgets and securing program resources, overseeing the development (including the countywide parks and trails master plans and management plans), construction and maintenance of park facilities, trails and natural areas, ensuring the provision of professional customer service at all times, preparing and submitting reports and recommendations to supervisor and County officials, and performing related professional, administrative, and supervisory work as required. The position assists in developing and implementing programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to the Director of Parks and Trails and executive level administrators through conferences, presentations and reports. Provide continuity of leadership.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
Requires five years of progressively responsible related experience.
