Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to operate heavy equipment in the operation, maintenance and/or construction of County roads, grounds and infrastructure. The position is responsible for operating complex and specialized heavy equipment, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and performing related work as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
The County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience for selected position postings on a year-for-year basis, provided that the education/experience is in a relevant or related field.
Requires high school diploma, GED, or vocational training with two (2) years of related experience.
Requires valid Florida CDL class B driver’s license. Requires an Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification within six (6) months of hire.
