Job Summary:

Performs professional, administrative and supervisory work in developing, implementing and maintaining projects for County parks, grounds and other public areas. Responsible for supervising staff, creating and implementing landscape designs for new projects and project renovations, developing and managing budgets, overseeing landscape installation and maintenance, and performing related tasks as assigned. Must be able to read/interpret park and trail construction, landscape and maintenance/repair bid documents and contracts. Must assist in the write-up of the maintenance and repair contracts. This position requires the ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, weekends, nights and holidays.

May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.



This specific position's duties involve overseeing, managing, and maintaining an active sports complex with the potential to be involved and assist at additional County parks, grounds and other public areas. This includes but is not limited to developing and coordinating staff and league schedules, contracted services, park rentals, events, and programs. This position is expected to provide effective citizen engagement, customer service, leadership, and develop essential business partnerships. This position is responsible for supervising and training staff, projects, record and report keeping, purchasing, and ensuring public safety in all aspects of park operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Biology, Environmental Science or related field with three (3) years of related experience. Requires certification as a Playground Inspector and a Public Pesticide Applicator License in the following categories: Natural Area Weed Management, Right of Way Pest Control, Ornamental and Turf Pest Control, Core (General Standards), Aquatics Pest Control within one year of hire. Ongoing maintenance of these certifications is required.

Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
