Job Summary:

Plans, manages and evaluates the County’s mosquito and aquatic plant management programs. Responsible for supervising staff, researching mosquito/aquatic plant management methods and implementing effective programs, ensuring operational compliance with applicable laws and regulations, developing policy and procedures, developing and managing assigned budget, documenting activities and performing related administrative functions, including reporting events and activities. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field with five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience.

Requires a valid Florida driver’s license. Requires the General Standards Pesticide License with the associated categories of Public Health Pest Control, Acquatic’s Applicator and Demonstration & Research. Must possess or obtain within six months of employment, state certification as a mosquito control director.
