Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to operate heavy equipment in the operation, maintenance and/or construction of County roads, grounds and infrastructure. The position is responsible for participating in and leading daily field operations as a working team member, ensuring the proper and safe use of equipment, reporting daily progress to supervisor and performing related tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to Division procedures; assists in the development of work methods and sequences to complete tasks.
This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires high school diploma, GED, or vocational training.
Within six (6) months of hire must obtain Florida Department of Transportation Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic and Florida Department of Environmental Services Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector certifications.
Requires four years of related experience.
Requires a valid Florida class B or higher CDL within six (6) months of date of hire. Applicant MUST have a valid driver's license and CLP (Commercial Learners Permit) prior to offer of employment. The County will provide all necessary training for employee to obtain CDL.
