Job Summary:
Conducts topographic surveying to support the design of County engineering and public works projects. The position is responsible for using survey equipment and instruments to collect data and make computations, researching property records as necessary, maintaining survey records, providing crew leadership in the absence of the Party Chief, and performing related tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in any of the following areas is preferred: surveying/engineering experience (preferred); public works experience; or other experience in fields involving outdoor work and use of technical equipment or computers. A 2-year Associates Degree or higher can be counted toward the experience requirement.
