ANIMAL SHELTER PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The essential function of this position is to perform routine-to-moderately complex administrative, secretarial and clerical work in support of effective and efficient office operations. Provides professional and courteous customer service at all times and performs related duties as required. This position coordinates one or more animal shelter programs designed to increase positive outcomes, decrease length of stay, and engage and partner with the public. Programs may include public pet adoption, coordination with animal rescue groups, coordination with outside agencies to place animals for adoption, organizing adoption events and coordinating with event sponsors; this position may coordinate Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return (TNVR) Programs, public outreach, proactive reunification, and volunteer programs. This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires high school diploma, GED, or vocational training with one year of college or vocational school and two (2) years of related experience. Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
