ANIMAL SHELTER SUPERVISOR

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist in planning, coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the Animal Services Division. Responsible for ensuring humane care, treatment and handling of all animals; supervises the feeding and treatment of sheltered animals; ensures veterinary care instructions are completed for all shelter animals; assists in adoption of animals, assists with coordination of rescue organizations; maintains high standard of for animal care and customer service, as well as adherence of policies and procedures. Performs related administrative and supervisor work as required. The position works independently, reporting major activities to management. This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires Associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education in Public Administration, Law Enforcement, Public Safety or a closely related field with four years of related experience. Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
