ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF WATER RESOURCES
The Associate Director of Water Resources plays a critical leadership role in managing, protecting, and optimizing water resources for the Lake County Water Authority. This position involves the strategic planning, development, and implementation of water resources projects and educational programs. The Associate Director of Water Resources for the Lake County Water Authority (LCWA) is responsible for overseeing the protection, management, and restoration of the county’s lakes, rivers, water systems and passive recreational preserves via sustainable land management practices. This role focuses on ensuring the long-term sustainability of Lake County's water resources through strategic planning, water quality management, regulatory compliance, and project implementation. The Associate Director works closely with the Executive Director, local stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to preserve the environmental integrity and recreational value of water bodies in Lake County. The position in coordination with the Director is responsible for managing and supervising staff, budgets and securing program resources, always ensuring the provision of professional customer service, preparing and submitting reports and recommendations to the Director and County officials, and performing related professional, administrative, and supervisory work as required. The position assists in developing and implementing programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to the Director and executive level administrators through conferences, presentations, and reports. Provide continuity of leadership. This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience for selected position postings on a year-for-year basis, provided that the education/experience is in a relevant or related field. Requires five years of progressively responsible related experience.
