Job Summary

ASSISTANT ROADS SUPERINTENDENT

The essential function of the position within the organization is to plan, coordinate and direct the daily maintenance of County roads, bridges and stormwater systems. The position is responsible for supervising subordinates, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and work zone safety measures, and performing related, technical and administrative duties as assigned. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires high school diploma or GED, and one year of college or vocational school education in construction management or a closely related field. Within six (6) months of hire an Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification and within one (1) year of hire the Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Qualification certification. Requires seven (7) years of related experience. Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
