Job Summary

ASSISTANT VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER

This position reports directly to and receives work assignments from the Veterans Service Officer. Under the direction of the Veterans Service Officer, this position provides all clerical support serving as a professional liaison to Veterans, maintaining client records, and performing related administrative and clerical functions as assigned. Provides representation and advocacy services to Veterans and their dependents, assistance and referrals in claims for other services, promotes Veterans services, coordinates office functions with other agencies and makes referrals to various agencies as authorized. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires Associate’s Degree in Business, Social Services or other relevant field with three (3) years of related experience. Must have completed active duty service in a branch of the armed forces during a period of war of at least eighteen months, and must be separated from such service under honorable conditions, in accordance with Florida statutes. Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
