Job Summary:

Supervises and manages stormwater operations. Assists in the administration of FEMA's National Flood Insurance Programs and NEPA and MS4 compliance and reporting. Coordinates planning and design permitting and facilitates construction of the County's drainage systems to prevent and mitigate flooding, preserve surface water flow ways and navigable waters, and maintain the county’s hydrologic systems for the preservation of natural communities, water quality, and groundwater recharge. Address drainage issues during emergency events and oversee maintenance of drainage facilities throughout Lake County.

This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.


Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a Nutrient Reduction Facility or Water Treatment Facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

The County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience for selected position postings on a year-for-year basis, provided that the education/experience is in a relevant or related field.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering and ten (10) years of experience in the stormwater/drainage field to include five (5) years of engineering management supervisory experience.

Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
Prefers Certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).

Must possess a professional engineer's registration at the time of hire or have the ability to obtain a Florida registration within six months of hire.
