Job Summary:
Highly responsible professional and managerial position providing direct support to the County Manager and support to all County Commissioners. Works to help the County compete effectively for funding and build partnerships that benefit Lake County residents. Coordinates the County’s state, federal, and regional legislative agendas. Directly handles matters of organizational importance on behalf of the County Manager, as appropriate. Performs work with considerable independent judgement. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
The County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience for selected positions on a year-for-year basis, provided that the education/experience is in a relevant or related field.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred) with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, or public policy.
Familiarity with Florida legislative and appropriations process.
Requires a valid Florida Driver’s license.
