Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to supervise assigned staff that perform technical duties associated with illicit discharge screening, education, ensuring compliance with approved plans for residential grading and drainage, landscaping, driveway construction, and right-of-way access construction, interpreting NPDES regulations and compliance with MS4 permit, researching and determining flood encroachments of parcels of unincorporated property, maintaining accurate and up-to-date inspection records and databases, and performing related technical tasks as assigned. The position works under general supervision from the Planning and Development Director according to procedures; independently developing work methods and sequences.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
The County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience for selected position postings on a year-for-year basis, provided that the education/experience is in a relevant or related field.
Requires Associates Degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education in environmental engineering technology, engineering technology or a closely related field with three (3) years of related experience.
Requires a valid Florida Drivers License.
Certification in FDEP Erosion & Sedimentation Course is required.
Certified Floodplain Manager certification preferred.
