Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to operate heavy equipment in the operation, maintenance and/or construction of County roads, grounds and infrastructure. The position is responsible for operating complex and specialized heavy equipment, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and performing related work as assigned. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience operating medium and heavy duty equipment. Requires Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic certification within (6) months of hire.

Requires a valid Florida class B or higher CDL within six (6) months of date of hire. Applicant MUST have a valid driver's license and CLP (Commercial Learners Permit) prior to offer of employment. The County will provide all necessary training for employee to obtain CDL.
