Mission

The mission of the Lake County Animal Shelter is:

• To shelter and reunite or rehome the lost, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered pets of Lake County.
• To protect the safety of the community.
• To provide temporary shelter to the displaced and abandoned, and to give safety to the abused and neglected domestic animals of Lake County.
• To achieve a positive and appropriate outcome for all animals.
• To support and provide education to the community on the importance of responsible pet ownership and care.

To report animal abuse or neglect, stray or aggressive dogs, domestic animals in distress, or to speak to an Animal Enforcement Officer, contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Animal Enforcement Unit at 352-742-4640.
